The v5-HD IRS is a four-channel true-stereo matrix. The EEL2 header refers to an earlier Ultra IRS/VDC pairing, so validate that stage independently before deployment.

The V6 three-file set is the established Redmi 12 profile. The limiter runs after the IRS and does not add tonal EQ.

02

Signal chain

HyperAudio publishes two established three-file profiles. The KZ EDX Pro uses the v5-HD release; the Redmi 12 speaker uses the V6 release. The selected files are organized as VDC → IRS → EEL2 profiles. Review each file’s pairing notes before enabling the complete chain.

Keep releases paired. Load the VDC, IRS and EEL2 files from the same release folder. Do not combine files across versions or stack an optional IRS on top of the core IRS.

Quick start

  1. Pick the correct device profile. Use v5-HD for KZ EDX Pro and V6 for the Redmi 12 speaker. Keep each release separate and review its file-pairing notes; the IEM EEL2 header needs independent verification.
  2. Set the host to 48 kHz and verify the running rate. Set convolver preamp to 0 dB for the IEM chain.
  3. Turn off other processing: extra EQ, bass enhancement and OEM sound effects.
  4. Load in order: DDC (.vdc), then Convolver (.irs), then Liveprog (.eel).
  5. Start at low volume and confirm the profile and processing mode.

Live compare

EXPERIMENTAL

Compare the selected profile's unprocessed source (A) against its browser-rendered VDC → IRS chain (B). The EEL2 stage is not emulated. This preview is not RootlessJamesDSP and is not an acoustic measurement.

Selected profile follows the Established Profiles selector.

Preview limitsWhat this browser preview does and does not do

Preview limits. Experimental browser DSP only; browser and output-device resampling differ from the app. No calibration, native DSP equivalence or device validation is implied. Use the IEM preview only with the KZ EDX Pro; the speaker preview is meaningful only when opened on the Redmi 12 itself.

Signal handling. A common −12 dB safety pad is applied. B is RMS level-matched against the first five seconds of the source, with the correction bounded to −12…+3 dB. A/B switching cross-fades briefly. The 4-channel IRS uses the browser's native true-stereo convolver mapping; left-only and right-only test tones help check channel routing.

Not emulated. EEL2, limiter behavior, app resampling, the Android audio path, calibration and acoustic room/device response.

The selected release is checked in your browser: RIFF/float32 IRS layout, finite samples, stereo or true-stereo symmetry, peak and tail levels, stable VDC biquad poles, and EEL slider structure. Peak gain and L1 are reported as diagnostics, not universal pass/fail gates.

Evidence boundary. PASS denotes static file-format, coefficient, or source-structure checks only. It does not mean native RootlessJamesDSP, ARM, device, acoustic or listening validation. No current selected profile has been marked device- or listening-validated.

Known limitationsSeven documented caveats
  • Reproducibility. iem_build.py, generate_irs.py and the source inputs are not included, so the IRS cannot be regenerated from this repository alone.
  • Speaker IRS provenance. The measurement setup is not documented. Any microphone response in the source measurement is also in the filter.
  • Target provenance. Retained response plots are context, not proof of the selected release or a calibrated acoustic result.
  • Runtime compatibility. Native RootlessJamesDSP, Android/ARM and target-device tests have not been run for these selected files.
  • EEL2 pairing. The IEM v5-HD EEL2 header names an earlier Ultra IRS/VDC pair and must be independently verified before use.
  • Limiter scope. Sample-peak limiting is not true-peak limiting or driver-excursion protection.
  • Sample rate. The IRS assets are 48 kHz only. Another host rate changes timing and frequency behaviour.
10

Raw and target curves

Each correction is fitted against a target curve, in dB relative to 1 kHz. Both targets are custom, built offline, and not published standards. Listening results outrank the curves.

Method and principles: Raw and target curves.

  • Trust broad shape over narrow detail, especially on a single-position speaker measurement.
  • Never correct an artifact such as a coupler resonance or a room effect.
  • Never boost where the device has no output. The speaker has almost nothing below 100 Hz.

Optional Add-ons

addons/ holds two optional impulse responses and three EasyEffects reference presets. See the add-on guide.

Level Matching Warning. The add-on IRS files are not level-matched to the project gates. Measured maximum gain from 20 Hz to 20 kHz: bbe-sonicmax.irs +7.9 dB (left) and +9.8 dB (right); efotech-mlv-01024-true-stereo-48khz.irs +3.7 to +5.3 dB across its four channels. The project gate is 0 dB. The convolver loads one IRS at a time, so an add-on IRS replaces the tonal-correction IRS rather than adding to it. Lower the volume before trying one.

Deployment guideLoad into RootlessJamesDSP

Chain: DDC (VDC) → Convolver (IRS) → EEL2 → Output. Set the host sample rate to 48 kHz. The IEM v5-HD VDC contains 14 tonal biquads; the Redmi 12 V6 VDC is identity. The IEM EEL2 header references an earlier Ultra pair and needs independent runtime verification.

The IEM v5-HD VDC and IRS both contribute to its correction chain. The Redmi 12 V6 VDC is an identity bank and its IRS provides the tonal correction. Do not add a duplicate external EQ.

Evidence & limitationsWhat has and has not been verified

The current release checks are static file and coefficient checks. Native RootlessJamesDSP execution, ARM behavior, acoustic measurements and controlled listening tests have not been performed for these selected files. The IEM v5-HD EEL2 header pairing remains a specific compatibility caveat.

The browser checks on this page are file checks, not RootlessJamesDSP runtime validation.

Integrity and licence

Verify any download with sha256sum. The build script generates assets.json from the actual files and records full SHA-256 hashes. The established IEM export points to v5-HD; the Speaker export points to V6.
